Life Update

My life is full activity, but there are many things that make me happy. School is going very well for me right now, my grades are great and I am enjoying school like never before. I love how in middle school you have many different classes where you get to know so many different people. Throughout this year, I have made so many new friends from each and every class. All my teachers are awesome this year and I’m having so much fun with the assignments they give me. My core teacher Ms. Moffat is the best!! She is super funny and so much fun to be around. She cares so much about her students and always wants to help us continue to be better students. Every day I look forward to her class. In core, I enjoy getting to do super fun projects. Currently, we are working on our Night of the Museum trifold. It is so and interesting to learn about my topic. I am in yearbook and it’s so fun getting to design the book. I love getting to use my creativity and getting to collaborate with my peers. I’ve always loved taking pictures of things and now I get to do it with a real camera! I can’t wait to see the finished product! I’m starting to understand math more and more everyday because of my math teacher. Ms. Cordero is very patient and is always willing to answer all the questions I have. My other classes are going really well to and I’m excited to see what else I can achieve this school year. One of my hobbies, tennis is always going pretty well. I’m currently playing tennis six days a week. Something I really enjoy is playing in group class because I get to meet new friends and get to know them better as well as improve my game. During the weekends, I participate in two hour Chinese school. My dads side of the family all speak and I’m hoping to be able to communicate with them in Chinese soon! Overall, my life is going very well. Thanks for reading!

Life on an Abandoned Island

Imagine being stuck on an abandoned island. That was my life! One day, I went on a boat ride at the beach. Unfortunately, I went too far out and a ginormous wave tipped over my boat. I swam to the nearest shore and ended up on this island. I was on that island for a little over a year and it was very lonely and isolated. Even though the island was extremely beautiful, I grew to be very bored and lonely. The island I was stuck on was super small, so I was able to walk the whole thing. The ocean water surrounding the small island was clear turquoise blue. The sand was white and super soft. The small island was filled with big palm tree’s. On the island, I loved to sit under the big palm tree’s for shade. During the day, the temperature was very hot but at night was cool. My routine every morning was very simple. I woke up and washed myself in the cold ocean water. Then I put back on my one and only pair of clothes. I caught food with the net I made the first week I arrived there then walked around the island to find berries. After I caught fish, I built a fire for warmth. I also used the fire to cook my fish. While I sit around the fire, I thought about all my loved ones and what they might be doing. Since the day I arrived there, I had been keeping track of the days I had been stuck on the abandoned island by making tallies in the sand with a stick. So far it had been 378 days. Then, one day while I was wondering if I would ever get off this tiny island, I heard a helicopter flying above me. I got super excited and hopeful that I started jumping up and down waving my arms in the sky. Surprisingly, they saw me and landed the helicopter. A man wearing an orange shirt came out of the helicopter and flew me back home. That was one of the most adventurous years I had ever experienced.

The Wise Dumbledore

Albums Dumbledore has said many wise things, but this one stands out most to me. “We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.” -Albus Dumbledore. To me, this quote means that in different situations there is a choice; to do what is right or what is easy. Most people will choose to do what is easy to just get it over with or put it off. Others will choose to do what is right, even though it isn’t always going to be easy and you might have to put in extra work and effort. Taking the easy choice won’t benefit you, plus when you do the harder choice, it will only help you or someone else. When you choose to do the challenge or harder route, you will only improve for the better. This quote can relate to me when I see someone getting bullied or if someone isn’t being nice to someone else. I have the choice to just ignore it and walk past, or I can stand up for them and be an upstander. An upstander is someone who sees what happens and speaks up to stop the bullying. Being an upstander definitely isn’t easy, but it’s the right thing to do.
